1 - How did you decide the color scheme for the room?

My love for smoothies gave me the idea to go with the fruit theme and I found an adorable wallpaper that mixed pink with pops of orange, peach and yellow. It's really the statement piece of the room and makes everything so bright and cheery.

2- Tell us a little about the choices you made at Simply Nursery and what led you to make these choices?

I went with the Samba Convertible Crib because I love how it grows with your child and the incredible quality will ensure we can use it for her first few years into toddlerhood. It's simple yet timeless and fits seamlessly into the nursery.

The 6 drawer dresser is a forever piece of furniture and I'm so impressed by the quality and design. It has tons of storage, and we will be able to use it for future children down the road.

The floating shelves are perfect for displaying heirloom pieces, special stuffed animals and her favorite books. It adds such a special touch to the nursery providing sentimental decor and functionality.

3- Is there a specific feature or detail in the nursery that you think makes it unique?

I haven't seen many fruit themes nurseries and the bold wallpaper definitely makes a statement and is the anchor piece all the rest of the decor ties into.

4- How did you balance practicality and aesthetics in the nursery design?

I tried to be intentional with how I designed this nursery so that the pieces I chose also provided functionality and practicality. The strawberry storage bins are adorable decor but also store all her stuffed animals and dolls. The floating shelves add decor to the wall but also display her favorite books and bears.

5 - Based on your experience, what advice would you give to someone who is designing their nursery?

I would tell them to decide on a theme and then pick one or two statement pieces to design everything around. If you're planning on having more children in the future then make sure the pieces you're spending the most money on could be used for future nurseries with different themes. Think color and gender neutral for those items. Lastly, HAVE FUN. Nurseries don't have to be neutral if you don't want them to be. Babies LOVE COLOR and this room should be FUN for them and inspire imagination, creativity and play!
